LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Anteaters wrapped up the Beach Fall Tennis Invitational with six total victories over nine total matches.
 
Starting with double action, the pairing of Asha Gidwani and Nour Khayat earned their second win of the tournament together, taking down their opposition from Cal Poly, 6-3. Freshman Yen Nhi Nguyen and senior Kayla Meraz teamed up to take on the nontraditional duo made up of Cal Poly and UC Davis. Both sides battled hard, but the UCI duo came away with a 7-5 victory.
 
The remaining four Anteater wins came from individual play, carried by the juniors on the team. Carolyna Fowler (6-1, 6-3), Nour Khayat (6-2, 6-2), and Haily Huynh (6-1, 6-3) each won their respective matches in straight sets. Gidwani toppled Dana Kunza from Cal State Fullerton 6-2 in the first set before dropping 6-2 in the second set which forced a decisive third game. Down to the wire, Gidwani fought for the 10-3 set three win to take the match and earn her second victory of the day.
