'Eaters Finish Strong at San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic

SAN DIEGO - The UC Irvine men's tennis team closed out action at the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic with four wins against Cal on Sunday afternoon.
The Anteaters came out on top in three of their four singles matches. Rithvik Krishna finished the weekend at 3-0 after dispatching the Golden Bears' Jonathan Irwanto, 6-0, 6-3.
Sohrob Amiryavari netted his second consecutive win as he defeated Bernardo Munk Mesa, 6-4, 6-4. Ruining Huang also earned his first collegiate singles victory, taking down Ethan Schiffman in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles, Amiryavari and Huang upended Irwanto/Munk Mesa, 6-4.
Up next for UCI is the ITA Southwest Regional Championships in Tempe, Arizona, Oct. 17-22.
