STOCKTON, Calif. - Junior
Rei Harashima had a top-10 finish to lead the UC Irvine men's golf team at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational Wednesday at Stockton Golf & Country Club.
Harashima carded his third-straight sub-70 score to tie for eighth at 7-under 206 (69-68-69). In the final round, Harashima fired three birdies and eagled the par-5, 546-yard 16th hole. He has placed among the top-20 in each of the Anteaters' first two tournaments of the fall.
Freshman
Jack Yu matched his season-best at 3-under 68 in Wednesday's final round. He climbed 21 spots into a tie for 36th with a 54-hole score of 214 (75-71-68).
Sophomore
Jason Tang tied for 47th at 217 (71-72-74), while junior
JJ Nakao (69-76-73) was one stroke back in a tie for 57th. Freshman
Owen Davis-Piger had his best round of the tournament and finished in a tie for 78th (78-74-72).
The 'Eaters tied for eighth with a 5-count-4 total of 861 (284-286-282). San Diego claimed the team title at 32-under. Host Pacific's Travis Robbie was the individual medalist, recording a 13-under 200 (66-68-66).
UCI is back in action next week when it travels to Seaside, California, for the Leadership and Golf Collegiate Classic, Oct. 21-23.
