IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine had a league-leading 59 student-athletes named to the 2023 Big West Fall All-Academic Team the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Anteaters' women's soccer squad, which won their third-straight Big West Championship, led the way with a program-record 14 selections. UCI's Big West regular-season and tournament champion men's water polo team also had 12 honorees.
 
Women's cross country had 11 named to the all-academic team, while men's soccer had a program-best 10.
 
Men's cross country saw all eight of its eligible student-athletes earn an all-academic nod and women's volleyball rounded out UC Irvine's fall selections with four.
 
To be eligible for the Big West All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA, complete one full year at their member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received and compete in at least 50% of their team's contests. Cross country student-athletes can also meet the participation requirement by competing in the Big West Championship.
