LOS ANGELES – In a high scoring affair, 15 Anteaters contributed to the scoring effort in UC Irvine's 24-1 victory over Whittier on Saturday morning.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- This was the first career hat-trick for Cass
- Tyler Padua, Dylan Patist, Gage Verdegaal, Jack Stevens, and Wyley Dale all scored two goals apiece
- Eight other Anteaters tallied one goal
- Junior Aidan Byrne made the start in the cage, playing the first eight minutes of the contest and returned to cover the final period of action
- Byrne had one save in the game
- Freshman Nolan Cary assumed the position in goal during the second period making two blocks
- Junior Garrett Selby entered the cage in the third period
- Zachary Baxter and Archer Sauer led the game with three assists
- All of Sauer's assists came in the second period
- Baxter and Stevens also had a games bests in steals with three each
- Samuel Otta has extended his scoring streak to nine games

SCORING BREAKDOWN
- First period: UC Irvine scored in spurts, placing two in the net in less than a minute, two with four minutes remaining, and the final two in within 30 seconds of each other at the two-minute mark, 6-0.
- Second period: The Anteaters added an additional six goals in the second period while holding their opponent scoreless, 12-0.
- Third period: UCI continued to score within the first minute of the period. Whittier knocked on the door at the 3:57 mark to net their lone goal of the contest.
- Fourth period: The 'Eaters put six more goals on the score sheet in the final stanza.
