· Anteater Stadium was the star last week hosting a national No. 1 team and a defending champion for the first time in program history. Sunday's match attracted 2,068 fans, the second-highest in program history, third-highest in stadium history, and third crowd of over 2,000 fans in UCI soccer history
· Glo Hinojosa had a stellar match fending off the defending champions stopping eight shots to tie a career high. The saves boosted her past Jenn Randazzo for seventh all-time with 178 saves while also passing Janice Taft and Allison Merrick this season. She also earned her 50th career appearance to open the season. She also secured her 22nd career shutout on Thursday.
· Tati Fung put home the game-winner in Thursday's 2-0 win vs. Pacific. It's her second career goal as an Anteater, both coming as penalties and both accounting for game-winners
· Alyssa Moore continues to control the attack adding a goal in the 2-0 win, the 13th of her career. Her four points lead the squad to go with 32 career points to lead active Anteaters.
· Mirayah Villalpando scored her first goal and point vs. Saint Mary's in her third career game
· UC Irvine's effort has earned it 33 corner kicks in 2023 already, 10 more than the next most in the conference for an average of 8.25 a match which ranks 15th nationally.
· UCI's duo of Chloe Ragon and Mihaela Perez have come back from missing the entire 2022 season with injury to play in each match so far and put in a combined 512 minutes

Thursday vs. the Spartans
· San Jose State makes the long haul back from Boston to host UCI on Thursday night. SJSU is 1-1-2 after splitting against Northeastern and Boston College. A year ago, SJSU was in the NCAA Tournament like UCI with an 8-7-7 mark that included a 3-0 loss at UCI. All-time, the 'Eaters have a 9-2 lead in the series.
· The Spartans have gotten two of their three goals from junior Bella Flocchini while last year's leading scorer, Taylor Phillips (4 G, 4 A) has the third. Sophomore Bente Pernot from Netherlands in net has stopped 27 shots and nearly 85% of the shots on target this season.

Sunday vs. the Hornets
· Sacramento State comes down to UCI for the second meeting ever between the programs. They last faced off in 1994 with the 'Eaters taking home a 6-0 win.
· The 2023 Hornets are off to a 1-2-1 start with five of their first six matches against the Big West with UC Riverside on Thursday and already a draw with Bakersfield and loss to UC Davis and at Hawai'i. A year ago, the Hornets were 4-9-5 with all wins coming in conference.
· Sac State has put home three goals so far from three different scorers. Junior Abigail Lopez is the only returner that had any goals a year ago and accounts for one alongside sophomore Madelyn Dougherty and freshman Teysha-Rey Spinney-Kuahuia. In net, new face and redshirt freshman Izzy Palmatier has seen all but 35 minutes stopping 16 shots and earning a shutout
