IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's soccer took on No. 1 UCLA in front of 2,068 fans Sunday night in Anteater Stadium falling, 4-0.

- UCI fans filled Anteater Stadium for the third crowd of over 2,000 fans in stadium history coming just short of last year's program and regular season record set in the season opener vs. Cal.
- UCLA's visit makes the first No. 1 team and first defending champion to play a regular season match vs. the 'Eaters in Anteater Stadium
- Sunday was the second match all-time UCI women's soccer has faced the No. 1 team joining a 2014 matchup with then UCLA
- The visiting Bruins took the lead in the 18th minute as a long throw-in bounded off a pair of heads finished by Ally Cook finishing for the 1-0 lead.
- UCLA added a second goal in the 27th minute as Reilyn Turner recovered a ball near the top of the box and put it home for a 2-0 lead with that score standing until the half
- The Anteaters had a their chance to take the lead in the game with Chloe Ragon hitting one just high in the 16th minute.
- Alyssa Moore had a pair of chances in the 43rd and 49th minutes just missing the frame.
- UCLA extended their lead with second half goals in the 53rd and 86th minutes.
- Glo Hinojosa matched a career high with eight saves in the match.
- Her eight saves surpassed Jenn Randazzo for career saves in the Anteater record book as Hinojosa stands seventh all-time with 178

The 'Eaters finish the week 1-1 to go to 2-2 on the 2023 season. UCLA stays unbeaten at 3-0-0. The Anteaters next head out for their first road match Thursday, August 31 at San Jose State with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff
