Just before we start the 2023-24 season, let's take one last look at all of the success UC Irvine Athletics had in 2022-23.
Overall, UC Irvine would end the year with four Big West regular season titles, two Big West Championship wins and two NCAA appearances. Four teams would end the year ranked nationally and 12 Anteater student-athletes would garner All-American honors.
Â
UCI claimed two Big West Coaches of the Year, two Athletes of the Year and three Freshman/Newcomers of the Year. Anteaters took home 59 all-conference honors and were named conference Player of the Week 36 times.
Â
The Anteaters would place second in the Dennis Farrell Big West Commissioner's Cup, UCI's highest finish and rank 23
rd among Division I-AAA schools (schools without football) in the NACDA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. The NACDA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup is an award given annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics to the colleges and universities in the United States with the most success in collegiate athletics.  Points for the NACDA Directors' Cup are based on order of finish in various National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) sponsored championships.
