Prentice Named To Team USA 2023 World Aquatic World Championships Roster

IRVINE, Calif. -- 
UC Irvine women's water polo alum Tara Prentice was named to the 2023 World Aquatics World Championships Team USA roster USA Water Polo announced on Monday.

The World Championships will be held in Fukuoka, Japan from July 15-29 and is an automatic qualifier event for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Prentice, one of 15 athletes named to the roster, will compete in Group A, facing China on Saturday July 15 at 5 p.m. PT. Team USA will also face the likes of Australia and France in Group A action.

The USA Women are looking to defend their World Championship title and continue their dominant run as they have won the last four World Championships (2015, 2017, 2019, 2022). The four time All-American was a member of the championship team in 2022, marking the first time in UC Irvine history an Anteater has brought home a World Championship medal. Prentice and Team USA are coming off a gold medal win at the 2023 World Aquatics World Cup in Long Beach.
