FULLERTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team finished fourth in the Big West Championship team standings Saturday at Titan Track Complex.

Jolie Robinson was named the Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Meet after upping her individual point total to 20. Robinson is the second Anteater to win the award in the last three seasons, joining Brianna Villanueva who was recognized in 2021.

On Saturday, Robinson wrapped up a busy two weeks with a seventh-place performance in the javelin. Her top mark of the day came on her first attempt which measured at 40.62m (133-3). She was also the Big West heptathlon champion and runner-up in the long jump.

For the second year in a row,
Deandra Tyler claimed runner-up honors in the shot put. She opened with a best of 15.21m (49-11), which kept her at the top of the leaderboard until UC Riverside's Shiloh Corrales-Nelson hit 15.94m (52-3.75) on her sixth and final attempt.

On the track, the 'Eaters accounted for 15 points in the 800m.
Malia Gay led the way with a personal-record 2:09.32 to place third overall. Gay improved on her No. 6 time in program history.
Alexis Alexander wasn't far behind in fourth at 2:10.35, while
Emma McCarthy (2:13.53) and
Cathy Salazar-Gasca (2:14.31) were sixth and eighth, respectively.

Less than 24 hours after winning the Big West 10K,
Sameen Andar made her way back onto the podium with a third-place showing in the 5,000-meter. Andar crossed the finish line in 16:28.44.
Hannah Chau, who scored in the steeplechase (3rd) and 10K (5th) on Friday, contributed two more points as she took seventh in 17:06.48.

Mia Marquez was fourth in the 400m with her second PR in as many days. After running 55.64 in yesterday's prelims, Marquez clocked in at 55.52 which puts her sixth among UCI's all-time leaders.

Amari Fraser took fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.98. It was her second sub-14-second race of the meet and was seven hundredths of a second off her lifetime best that she ran in Friday's prelims. Fraser was back in action just over an hour later in the 400H (8th).

Anna Vogtmann scored in the 1500m, placing sixth at 4:34.74.

The Anteaters added seven points in the relays. Fraser, Marquez,
Lauren Aquino and Alexander were fourth in the 4x400 (3:45.45), coming in nine hundredths of a second behind Hawai'i. In the 4x100,
Reyna Johnson,
Samantha Bartz,
Alana Odom and
Aryel Coats clocked a season-best 46.47 (7th).
