LA QUINTA, Calif. - The second round of the 2023 Big West Men's Golf Championships has been suspended due to excessive winds Monday at La Quinta Country Club.

UC Irvine was one of six teams to complete all 18 holes, coming in at 13-over 301. The Anteaters are currently tied for sixth with a two-round total of 592Â (291-301).

Long Beach State (571) took a slight lead in the team standings, pulling three strokes ahead of Cal State Fullerton (574). Felix Schrott of CSUN is the individual leader at 5-under 139 (66-73) heading into tomorrow's action.

Darien Zhao carded a 2-over 74 to remain in the top-10. He will enter the final round in a tie for eighth at even-par (70-74).

Rei Harashima (73-75) and
Johnny Bai (74-74) are also tied for 20th with a 36-hole score of 148. Bai matched Zhao for the team's best round of the day. He registered three birdies and an eagle on the par-5, 527-yard sixth to make the turn at 3-under but had five bogeys on the back nine.
Jin Nakao, who eagled the sixth hole, is tied for 29th (152).

UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside will complete their second round Tuesday starting at 7:30 a.m., while the 'Eaters are slated to tee off in the final round at 8 a.m.
