IRVINE, Calif.— The hot hands of
Elena Flynn and
Jessica Lynch paced the UC Irvine (15-6, 5-0 BW) offensive in the 19-8 victory over No. 22 CSUN (16-11, 0-5 BW) in a Friday matinee.
UCI improves to 6-1 in the Anteater Aquatic Complex and are on a seven game win streak.

Brooke Banta (7:26) saw her chance and hit the upper left corner of the cage to bring UCI back into striking distance, 2-3
>CSUN swung the ball to the far side of the pool, firing off a shot into the open nearside of the cage, 2-4 (6:47)
>
Elena Flynn drew the foul at 5:53 and converted on the five-meter penalty shot, 3-4
>
Jessica Lynch received the ball at the top of the Anteater formation, netting the equalizer at 5:03, 4-4
>Flynn's (4:04, 2:28) notched the hat-trick after two more made penalties, giving UCI their first lead of the day, 6-4
>The Matadors stopped the 'Eaters run at 1:10 to bring the game back within one, 6-5
THIRD PERIOD

Kili Skibby (7:21) flicked her wrist to direct the ball into the goal off a Banta pass, 7-5
>On the next offensive drive for the 'Eater, Skibby connected with
Nioka Thomas in the center for the spinning, behind the back goal at 5:50, 8-5

Gracie Helberg deposited the ball into the cage off the dish from Flynn, 9-5 (5:00)
>Two straight points from CSUN (4:32, 4:02), forced UCI to burn a timeout to regroup, 9-7
>Using the crossbar to her advantage, Lynch (3:41) fired the ball on the bottom most part of the bar for the goal, 10-7
>Lynch then found Flynn (2:55) in the center for the no-look shot, 11-7
>The Matadors added a tally at 1:15 on the one player advantage, 11-8
