IRVINE, Calif. - Twelve Anteaters have been named to the 2023 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team.

Hannah Chau earned her third career MPSF all-academic honor. Chau was a conference scorer this season, finishing fourth in the 5000m with a personal-record 16:49.65. She concludes her career ranked among the top-10 in program history in the mile, 3000m and 5000m.

Laura Sangiacomo also made the MPSF All-Academic Team for the second year in a row.

Deandra Tyler were first-time honorees.

Andar had two podium finishes at the MPSF Championships, claiming runner-up honors in the 3000m (9:39.12) and taking third in the 5000m (16:37.63). Both of her times were the fastest in program history.

McCarthy also set school records in the 600m (1:33.74) and 800m (2:12.10). Tyler added top-five showings in the shot put (48-09.5) and weight throw (54-10) at the conference meet with her marks ranking third and fourth among UCI's all-time leaders.

To be eligible for the MPSF All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at their institution and have competed in a minimum of 50% of the team's meets.
