LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team had a strong finish to the Beach Invitational Saturday at Jack Rose Track.

Reyna Johnson highlighted the field events, finishing fourth overall, and third among collegiate athletes, with a big personal record in the long jump. After fouling on her first attempt, Johnson had a leap of 20 feet, 1 inch on her second jump, which moved her up three spots to No. 3 among UCI's all-time leaders. Johnson is the third Anteater in program history, and first since Marieke Veltman's school-record 21-00.5 in 1992, to reach the 20-foot mark.

On the track,
Amari Fraser,
Mia Marquez,
Lauren Aquino and
Alexis Alexander combined for the fourth-fastest 4x400 in program history at 3:43.21. The quartet took third overall and was tops among Big West teams.

Fraser added a wind-aided season-best 14.14 in the 100m hurdles.

Samantha Bartz led a trio of 'Eaters in the 100m, clocking in at 12.02 seconds. For the second time this week,
Alana Odom registered a wind-aided personal record, crossing the finish line in 12.20 seconds.

Reina Kabbara came in 14th out of 48 in the 800m with a time of 2:18.83.

Aquino (57.02) and
Sienna Frederiksen (58.44) also competed in the 400m.

Johnson, Bartz, Odom and
Aryel Coats got the action started on the track for the Anteaters, matching a team season-best 46.66 in the 4x100 relay.

AZUSA, Calif. - The UC Irvine distance crew had eight student-athletes entered in three sections of the 1500m Saturday at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

Malia Gay had the Anteaters' top time of the evening with a personal-record 4:25.10 to finish third out of 188 runners in the 1500m Open A. Her time ranks ninth in school history.
Cathy Salazar-Gasca was also 40th at 4:31.11, while
Hannah Chau was 56th in 4:32.20.
Olivia Liuson (4:41.23),
Claire Livengood (4:41.39) and
Makena Castillo (4:42.08) added season bests.

In the Invite section,
Anna Vogtmann clocked a season-best 4:31.52.

Maggie Sczupak also finished 10th out of 156 in the 1500m Open B with a personal-record 4:36.86.
UC Irvine is back in action next Thursday, April 20 at The Battle in the OC, hosted by Cal State Fullerton.
