LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team wrapped up action at the Beach Opener Saturday at Long Beach State.

The Anteaters claimed the top six spots in a 1500m field that featured 56 athletes.
Cathy Salazar-Gasca led the way with the event win and a personal-record 4:34.30.
Hannah Chau was the runner-up with a lifetime-best 4:34.61, while
Anna Vogtmann took third at 4:34.65.
Emma McCarthy (4:40.17) also notched a PR to come in fourth, while
Alexis Alexander (4:43.55) and
Olivia Liuson (4:44.21) were next across the finish line.

Malia Gay was second out of 35 in the 800m, clocking in at 2:12.66.
Makena Castillo, who was competing in her first outdoor collegiate meet, was also seventh overall (2:20.72).

Deandra Tyler, who won the hammer throw on Friday, claimed runner-up honors in the shot put with a toss of 46-08.75.
Nadia Combs-Mahone (41-01.75) and
Cassious Fiaui (40-06) added top-10 showings.

Jolie Robinson registered a personal-record 19-01.25 in the long jump to finish third. Robinson, who set the indoor school record earlier this year, now ranks eighth in outdoor program history.
Reyna Johnson was also seventh with a best of 18-06.5.

Amari Fraser took fourth in the 400m with a PR 59.42.

In her outdoor collegiate debut,
Samantha Bartz led five 'Eaters in the 100m as she placed sixth at 12.03 seconds.

Mia Marquez (24.97) and
Sienna Frederiksen (25.29) contributed top-10 performances in the 200m. Marquez's time was a wind-aided lifetime best.

Diane Molina shaved nearly 14 seconds off her personal best in the 3000m, crossing the finish line in 10:56.73.

Marquez,
Lauren Aquino, Fraser and Alexander closed out the meet with a third-place showing in the 4x400 relay (3:50.76).

UC Irvine is back in action next week at the UCSB Invitational, March 8-10.
