LOS ANGELES - The UC Irvine women's track & field team competed in the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational Saturday at UCLA's Drake Stadium.

Three Anteaters placed among the top-10 in the shot put, led by
Deandra Tyler, who was the runner-up with a personal-record 49-02.25. Tyler moved up one spot to No. 3 in program history.
Nyla Baker (41-05.25) and
Sydney Gontang (40-07.75) also notched lifetime bests to place ninth and 10th, respectively.

In the high jump,
Jolie Robinson cleared a personal-best 5-05, while
Naiya Edwards added a season-best 5-01.

Chaselyn Amos took seventh in the long jump with a season-best 17-07.5.
Phoebe Roach also registered a season-best 10-09.5 in the pole vault.

The relays bookended the track events with season bests.
Alana Odom,
Samantha Bartz,
Mikaela Rosario and
Aryel Coats kicked things off with a time of 46.66 in the 4x100 relay. Later in the day,
Mia Marquez,
Lauren Aquino,
Amari Fraser and
Alexis Alexander combined for a runner-up showing in the 4x400 (3:47.35).

Individually, Alexander was UCI's top finisher in the 800m, clocking in at 2:12.24 to take sixth out of 41. Marquez was also ninth in her first 400m race of the season (57.20).

Bartz came in 10th in the 100m at 12.18 seconds, and
Reyna Johnson was 13th with a season-best 12.54.

Johnson (15.03) and
Amari Fraser (15.05) led the way in the 100m hurdles, while heptathletes
Jolie Robinson (15.29) and
Laura Sangiacomo (16.66) contributed personal bests.

Coats paced six 'Eaters in the 200m with a season-best 25.18. Odom wasn't far behind with a PR 25.45.

UC Irvine will make its home debut next weekend, hosting the Vince O'Boyle Track & Field Classic, March 31-April 1.
