IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine baseball has signed eight on this 2023 National Signing Day. The 2024 class features a wide range of newcomers, from high school to junior college to pitchers from either side of the rubber, infielders, outfielders, catchers, and even switch-hitters. Following additions in the Spring and Summer, the full incoming class comes in at 20 student-athletes.

Aiden Alvarez | RHP - "Aiden has been impressive in his development recently. We followed him all summer and he is now currently up to 90 with the makins of a plus slider. He has always had a knack for throwing strikes and now as he is getting stronger, the stuff has really ticked up." - head coach Ben Orloff





Jaxton Andeel | LHP - "Jaxton is a local kid that we had known about for a long time, but seeing him this fall opened our eyes. He is a physical left-handed pitcher with a fastball in the low 90s and a current plus slider. We think he is only continuing to jget better and expect him to make an immediate impact on the pitching staff." - head coach Ben Orloff





Ryan Castro | INF - "Ryan is one of the premier defensive shortstops in the state. His skillset is one that lends itself to playing early in his career at UC Irvine. He is a good athlete that loves to play." - head coach Ben Orloff



Hudson Comer | OF - "Hudson has the combination of speed and power that we look for in an outfielder. He has enormous upside as he continues to improve. Hudson was at many of the top events this summer and fall, and proved himself as one of the best guys on the field." - head coach Ben Orloff




Tyler Foster | RHP - "Tyler followed up a good junior spring with an impressive summer. Tyler separates himself from so many others by his ability to really command the fastball. He has an easy strike-throwing ability that will help him log innings for us early in his career." - head coach Ben Orloff






Theo Kim | INF - "Theo is someone we have been following for over three years now. He has turned into a physical switch-hitter that can play anywhere in the infield. Theo has continued to improve, and we are excited to finally get him on campus." - head coach Ben Orloff






Michael Podstreleny | C - "Michael is another guy that we have been following for a long time. He has all the leadership and character traits that you look for in a catcher. It is rare to find a left-handed hitting catcher that has the defensive skillsets that Michael has." - head coach Ben Orloff




Jack Ross | RHP - "Jack got a lot of experience last year as a starter. He can throw multiple pitches for strikes and profiles as a guy that will help immediately." - head coach Ben Orloff
