Anteaters Continue Strong Showing at LMU Invite

LOS ANGELES -
The UC Irvine men's tennis team picked up four singles and two doubles wins on the second day of the LMU Invitational Saturday at LMU Tennis Center.
 
The Anteaters took two of three doubles matches from host Loyola Marymount. At the top of the lineup, Lawee Sherif and Noah Zamora teamed up for a 6-3 victory over Arthur Pantino/Toky Nicolas Ranaivo. Brandon Park and Matthew Sah also took down Inigo Diaz/Nicolas Pesoli, 6-2, at the second position.
 
UCI then went head-to-head with Denver in singles. Zamora dispatched Marvin Schaber, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2. Lawee Sherif added a straight-set victory against Charlie Miller, 6-1, 7-5, on court six, while Andy Nguyen remained poised down the stretch for a 7-5, 7-5 triumph over Rikuto Yamaguchi at the fifth position.
 
Rithvik Krishna also earned the win at No. 1 against Peter Sallay, 3-6, 7-6 (2), ret.
 
UC Irvine will wrap up the LMU Invitational, and its fall tournament season, on Sunday, Nov. 12, when it goes up against Loyola Marymount in singles and Utah in doubles.
