Women's Soccer Entertains UC Schools at Home This Week

6 - 6 Anteater seniors were honored following Sunday's match (Goerlinger, Rask, Mendoza, Smeenge, LeVine, Gillies)
100 - 100 Anteaters have played 50 matches for the program with six this year adding Sophie Gillies and Alyssa Moore vs. CSF
200 - Glo Hinojosa became the fifth Anteater to reach 200 career saves Thursday, she had 7 at CSF, one off a career high
3 - Defensive midfielder Gianna Creighton has played all but 3 minutes this year with 6,735 in her career in 76 matches
40th - This season is the 40th anniversary of the start of Anteater soccer with the men's and women's teams beginning in 1984
#18 - For the second time in program history, the Anteaters finished the season in the top 25 at #18 in 2022 (#14 in 2010)

Concessions available at the stadium. Outside food or drink, other than a water bottle, are not permitted

Parking
Permits are $15 and enforced at all times. Hourly permits ($5 per hour) and ParkbyPlate (Code: SPORTS@UCI) are also available to purchase ahead of time

· The Anteaters are looking up at the competition with five Big West points, tied for ninth in the standings. They still have a game in hand compared to most of the Big West as they continue with their eight-match stretch to end the season with no open dates
· Tati Fung had UCI's lone goal with a spectacular strike Sunday; her third career goal and first in the run of play. Desiree Mendoza added her eighth career assist and Chloe Ragon notched her first of the season and fourth as an Anteater to set her up
· Glo Hinojosa continues to climb record books reaching 200 career saves Thursday, the fifth Anteater keeper with 200. Second-year Anteater Savanna Arruda made her debut in the final minute Thursday, and she made two saves Sunday in her first career start
· Gianna Creighton's reached 70 career matches making her the 16th 'Eater to reach the mark, and she's entered UCI's top 10 at 76 now. She's still on pace to reach 7,000 career minutes at 6,735 this week having played all but three minutes in 2023
· Creighton was joined by Glo Hinojosa, Kiera Smeenge, Lilli Rask, Desiree Mendoza, Sophie Gillies and Alyssa Moore who have all reached 50 career matches this season making it 100 Anteaters with 50+ matches all-time. Three 'Eaters are primed to reach it this week with Laila El Behery one away and two for Chloe Ragon and Suus de Bakker
· UC Irvine donned their pink jerseys last week which they will wear all of October

Thursday vs. the Tritons - 6:00 PM
· UC San Diego enters Thursday night above the Anteaters at 2-2-1 in conference along with a 3-7-3 overall record. Notably, they've tied, 4-4, with Pacific, lost to Oregon State, 2-0, and drawn losses at Hawai'i and vs. Cal State Fullerton while beating UCSB, 2-1. UCSD has had the 'Eaters' number with a win and draw since joining Division I, and all-time lead the series, 10-2-4
· The Tritons settle around the middle of the pack in terms of statistical categories. In 13 games they've scored 15 times, but have scored nine of them away from home. Raquel Kalpakoff has five complimented by shot-leader Kennedy Carter with 25 and scoring three. Kiera Fitzgerald has been between the posts for every minute stopping 75 shots and allowing 24 goals

Sunday vs. the Highlanders - 6:00 PM
· UC Riverside is just 2-7-5 to this point in 2023 but shocked a lot in the Big West when they notched their first two wins in their first two Big West matches downing Cal State Fullerton and Hawai'i. Since then they've lost at UCSB and Cal Poly and drawn with CSUB as the squad is winless away from their home turf at 0-4-2. The 'Eaters are also 16-4-2 against UCR in series history without a loss in the last four meetings and a 9-1-1 record in Anteater Stadium
· The Highlanders statistically are at the bottom in shots per game (7.4), fouls per game (7.8), and overall corners with 34. They do have 14 goals with Daphane Mendez, Spenser Gonzales, Braelynn Llamoca, and Charisma Benitez all capable with multiple this season. Senior Cassia Souza in goal hasn't missed a minute collecting 76 saves while allowing 26 goals by her
