IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team continues its fall season this weekend at the UC Santa Barbara Fall Classic, Oct. 6-8.

UCI will be sending four student-athletes -
Rithvik Krishna,
Andy Nguyen,
Matthew Sah and
Lawee Sherif - to compete in both singles and doubles. Sherif and Sah are slated to make their season debuts, while Nguyen is set for his first collegiate matches.
Other schools that will be represented in the tournament are UCLA, Pepperdine, Cal Poly, Grand Canyon, Loyola Marymount, San Diego State, Westmont and host UC Santa Barbara.

Last weekend, six Anteaters kicked off the 2023-24 campaign at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Enrique Luque Rico (4-1) led the way as he cruised through the prequalifying round without dropping a set in victories over opponents from Indiana, Oklahoma, Georgia Southern and Vanderbilt. He earned one of 16 berths into the qualifying draw where he dropped a tough three-setter to Baylor's Luc Koenig.
Noah Zamora also won two matches in prequalifying singles. In addition,
Ali Amiri,
Rithvik Krishna,
Brandon Park and
Hiroki Sakagawa all finished with a 1-1 record.

UC Irvine returns seven letterwinners from last year's squad that claimed a share of the Big West regular-season title. Four of the seven were also members of the Anteaters' 2022 team that won the conference tournament and made the program's 12th NCAA appearance.
