SPOKANE, Wash. - The UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team kicked off the 2023 campaign with the Spokane Indoor Challenge distance carnival Friday evening at The Podium.

Two Anteaters ran the 5,000-meter to start the two-day meet. Sophomore Sameen Andar led the way with an indoor 5K personal-record 17:06.57. She topped her previous best by nearly 27 seconds. Senior Hannah Chau also clocked in at 17:31.90.

UCI returns to action at The Podium tomorrow with a full day of events slated to start with the weight throw and 60m hurdles at 10 a.m.
