> No. 9 UC Irvine will play in the G. Troyer Tournament on Friday, Sept. 30th facing No. 16 California Baptist and Occidental before traveling to Southern California on Sunday, Oct. 2nd
> No. 16 California Baptist is coming off a two win weekend, earning their first win over WWPA conference foe Biola and the second to Concordia University of Irvine
> The game between UCI and California Baptist will mark the 18th overall meeting between the two teams
> The Lancers enter the weekend with a 8-6 overall record
> Occidental is coming off a 16-12 win against Mt. San Antonio 
> The game between UCI and Occidental will mark the 7th overall meeting between the two teams
> The Anteaters look to continue their unbeaten streak, leading the all-time series 6-0 with the last meeting in 2013
> No. 5 Southern California is coming off a 2-2 weekend at the MPSF Invitational, earning wins against T-No. 16 Fordham and No. 6 UC Davis
> The Trojans dropped their two games to No. 2 UCLA and No. 1 Cal by one point each
> UC Irvine and No. 5 USC met earlier this season at the Triton Invitational, dropping 10-4 to the previous No. 2 ranked team
 
MPSF INVITATIONAL RECAP
> UC Irvine out-shot their opponents, 107-96
> The Anteaters played in two overtime competitions
> Ethan Shipman led the way for UCI with 12 goals on 15 attempts and two steals
> Shipman notched two hat-tricks, one over T-No. 16 Fordham and the other over No. 9 San Jose State, going 6-9 against the Rams and a perfect 4-4 versus the Spartans
> Dylan Patist landed nine goals on 12 attempts and one steal
> Patist shot perfect in two of the four games, including a 5-5 showing in the overtime win against No. 11 Pepperdine where he scored the game winner for UC Irvine
> Tyler Padua added to the offensive effort with six goals on eight attempts
