• Embarked on a two-year mission trip before enrolling at UC Irvine
• Graduated high school in 2019
• Averaged 17.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg, and 1.2 apg as a senior
• Utah State Champion in 2019
• Utah State Tournament MVP in 2019
• First Team All-State selection in 2019
• Utah State Runner-Up in 2018
• Third Team All-State selection in 2018
• Two-Time All-Region selection

Hailing from Draper, Utah, Welling comes from an athletic family where both his parents played collegiate sports. Hayden, the oldest of four children, inspired his siblings to play basketball. The forward is currently an undeclared major, but is minoring in physical studies. Welling aspires to work in the clinical or hospital administration field upon the completion of his degree.
