Henno Picks Up Final Big West Weekly Freshman Honor

IRVINE, Calif. -- Hilir Henno returned to the starting lineup last week and added another Big West Freshman of the Week honor to his resume.
He has claimed conference Freshman of the Week five times and Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week once each.
In the first meeting with Hawaii he collected a match-high 10 digs and just missed his fifth double-double with nine kills, three set assists and a service ace for 10 total points. It was his fifth contest with double-digit digs.
In the regular season finale versus the Rainbow Warriors, Henno totaled double-figure kills for the 15th time, putting down 15 alongside a match-high four aces while sharing the team high of seven digs. He also had a pair of block assists and two set assists, totaling 20 points.
For the weekend, Henno averaged 3.75 points, 3.00 kills, 2.13 digs and 0.63 aces per set. He continues to lead the team with 41 aces on the year.
The opposite ranks fifth in the Big West in points (4.27) and is seventh in kills (3.44). The lefty from France is 11th nationally in aces with a 0.51 mark.
UCI will compete for a Big West Championship title, beginning Thursday (Apr. 21-23) against UC San Diego at the SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT
