LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team closed out a busy week Saturday at the Beach Invitational.

Emma McCarthy continued to lead the Anteaters in the 800m where she finished seventh in a field of 71 athletes. McCarthy, who won the event two days ago at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, set a personal-record 2:10.19, shaving .21 seconds off her previous best.
Alexis Alexander also took 23rd with a lifetime-best 2:13.53.

Zani Meaders clocked in at 56.27 for a top-20 showing in the 400m.

Reyna Johnson finished 26th out of 82 in the 100m hurdles (14.18), while
Amari Fraser established season bests in both the 100H (14.39) and 400H (63.82).

Johnson, Meaders,
Mia Marquez and
Aryel Coats combined to run the 4x100 relay in 47.73 seconds. Fraser, Meaders, Marquez and McCarthy also finished the 4x400 in 3:49.59.

In the field events,
Lorraine Nance placed among the top-10 in the triple jump with a leap of 39-09.25, and Johnson added a 17th-place finish in the long jump (18-07.75).

Kassidy Sani notched a season-best 150-06 in the discus.

UC Irvine is back in action on Friday, April 22, when it makes the short trip to Fullerton for The Battle in the OC.
