LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team had 17 top-10 finishes, including three event wins, at the Beach Opener Saturday at Jack Rose Track.

Reyna Johnson led the way with an individual victory in the long jump. In her first outdoor collegiate meet, Johnson finished first in a field of 35 with a personal-record 19-01.25. Her mark ranks eighth in school history.

Montgomery Allison also made her way into the Anteaters' top-10 in her outdoor debut. She won the steeplechase with a time of 11:13.28, which puts her ninth all-time at UCI.
Laura Yontz (12:09.47) and
Nikki Fulcomer (12:13.94) were third and fourth, respectively.

Emma McCarthy came in nearly two seconds ahead of the pack in an 800m race that featured 39 athletes. She crossed the finish line in a lifetime-best 2:14.73.
Alexis Alexander added a personal-record 2:17.07 to come in fifth, while
Jennifer Daly was eighth (2:21.21).

Zani Meaders led five 'Eaters in the 400m, clocking in at 56.29 seconds to claim runner-up honors.
Mia Marquez was also seventh (58.26).

Lorraine Nance, who was making her return to competition after missing all but the first two meets of the 2021 campaign, took third in the triple jump with a leap of 37-05.75.

In the 100m,
Aryel Coats placed fourth overall (12.23), while
Cathy Salazar-Gasca was fifth in the 3000m (10:19.26).
Hannah Chau contributed a fifth-place showing in the 1500m at 4:41.27.

Marquez,
Amari Fraser, Meaders and Daly also ran the third-fastest 4x400 relay of the meet at 3:52.74.

Deandra Tyler was fourth in the shot put with a toss of 42-07, and
Cassious Fiaui notched a personal-best 37-09.25.
Kassidy Sani led the way in the discus, coming in seventh out of 50 throwers (146-01).
Phoebe Roach also registered a collegiate personal-best 10-07 in the pole vault.
