Flynn Shines In 14-10 Win Over San Diego State

IRVINE, Calif. – No. 6 UC Irvine jumped out quickly and never looked back in a 14-10 victory over No. 20 San Diego State at the Anteaters Aquatic Complex.

The Anteaters (14-5) had a team effort with nine players logging a goal in the victory. UCI was led by redshirt freshman Elena Flynn and senior Tara Prentice with three goals apiece. Flynn also dished two assists.

UCI took advantage off exclusions, scoring five goals on 10 power plays, while SDSU was just 3-11.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Piper Smith had two goals and a steal followed by Kili Skibby, Toni Shackelford, Jessica Lynch, Sabina Shackelford, Isabel Rack and Mica Schiavone each adding one
>SDSU was paced by Karli Canale and Rose Kanemy with three goals
>Faith Tedesco recorded eight saves for UCI, while Raquel de Pinho had six for the Aztecs

FIRST PERIOD
