IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine won five singles matches in straight sets on the way to a 6-1 victory over Boston University Friday at Anteater Tennis Stadium. Â

The 'Eaters logged their seventh straight win to improve to 8-4 on the season.

UCI got out to a strong start once again, winning the doubles point for the fifth consecutive match.
Matthew Sah and
Rithvik Krishna cruised to a 6-1 victory over Jonah Dickson/Gabe Brown at No. 2.
Emmanuel Coste and
Noah Zamora then secured the early lead, defeating Johann Sajonz/Adrian Pawlowski, 6-2, at No. 1.

In singles, the Terriers (0-9) grabbed a point at No. 6 where the Anteaters did not field a player, but
Mike Mkrtchian quickly put UC Irvine back on top as he dispatched Dickson, 6-2, 6-0 at the second position.
Ali Amiri followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Pawlowski at No. 3, before Sah clinched on court four where he topped Ben Letzer, 6-1, 6-1.

Krishna added his second collegiate dual-match win, taking down Brown, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 5, while Zamora also came out on top in his first match playing at No. 1 singles. He upended Dion Loutas, 6-4, 6-2.

UC Irvine will take a break for finals before returning to action on Monday, March 21, when it plays host to Dartmouth.
