TROUBLE IN NORCAL
The Anteaters, who led for a majority of the game, were troubled in the second half by a red hot three-point shooting Santa Clara team. The Broncos would hit four consecutive trey's to tie the contest at 61 before nailing four more to ensure their fate.

UC Irvine has only played against four of the eight Ivy institutions (Columbia, Harvard, Penn, and Princeton). The Crimson is the 'Eaters most common opponent and UCI holds the 4-2 advantage over the league.

Russ Turner earned his 249th career win at South Dakota and is just one victory away from hitting the 250 win mark. Out of 365 active head coaches in Division I, there are only 100 who have hit this career milestone.

According to College Basketball Reference, UCI sits in the top seven schools who have the most points per game scored by in state players (49.7 ppg). The other teams are UNI, Youngstown State, Georgia State, Eastern Michigan, Northern Colorado, and TCU.

The 'Eaters, who are a strong scoring team and ranked top-60 in the country in scoring offense, receive a lot of momentum from the second and third rotations. UCI is ranked 14th nationally in bench points per game (32.82).

UC Irvine finds themselves among the best in another specialty statistical category, landing 46th in the nation in fast break points. The Anteaters join UC Davis and Long Beach State who are also top-50 nationally.

DJ Davis, who went a perfect 3-3 at the free throw line in Santa Clara, has now made 12 consecutive from the stripe. Davis had made 18 straight earlier this season and is 13th in the nation is free throw percentage (0.909)

Dawson Baker hit the same career mark back against Fresno State.

DOUBLE DIGIT SCORING STAR
After his performance at Santa Clara,
Dawson Baker sets a new streak of six consecutive games scoring in double figures. Baker has recorded 10 double digit scoring games this season and has posted 32 in his career thus far.

LONE COMPANY BEHIND THE ARC
DJ Davis is the lone Anteater to score a three-pointer in every game this season extending his streak to 14 consecutive contests. Davis sits 24th in the country in three-point percentage.

The first NET ranking of the season was released on Monday Dec. 5. The 'Eaters are the highest ranked and only Big West team within the top-100 sitting at 69 with UC Santa Barbara locking in the second position at 114.

Several Anteaters sit in the top ten of the Big West individual statistical rankings: scoring (5th--Davis), field goal percentage (2nd-Baker), three-point field goal percentage (1st–Davis), three-point field goals per game (1st—Davis), free throw percentage (1st—Davis), assists (2nd–Crockrell II), assist-TO ratio (2nd–Crockrell II), and blocks (8th—Keeler).
