IRVINE, Calif. – All 15 UC Irvine players scored in the Anteaters' victory over Life Pacific Monday night at the Bren Events Center. 
 
Andre Henry had a season-high 14 points to lead UCI. The guard went 6-7 from the floor and 2-2 from long distance. He also matched his season-high in rebounds with five. 
 
UCI improves to 4-1 overall and 3-0 at home this season. 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Forwards Devin Tillis, Chazz Hutchison, JC Butler and center Bent Leuchten each had 10 points
>Hutchison set a career high in points, going 4-4 from the field and pulled down a career and game-high nine rebounds
>Guard Pierre Crockrell II had a career-best seven rebounds to go with six points and assists, which ties season-highs
>Freshman Hayden Welling made his first career points as an Anteater, shooting both 2-4 short distance and at the stripe
>Emilis Butkus led the team with three steals in 11 minutes of action
>Freshman Eli Chol earned his first career points in the contest, recording six on perfect 3-3 shooting
>Forward Akiva McBirney-Griffin doubles his previous career high three points with a six point showing tonight. The redshirt freshman also posted his first career steal
>Ofure Ujadughele tied his career high nine points set back on Nov. 16, 2021 in the win over La Verne
>The 'Eaters held the Warriors to 1-9 shooting (0.111) from behind the arc in the second period
>Life Pacific was led by Kyler Villareal with 15 points on 7-12 shooting, 1-4 from distance
 
HEAD COACH RUSSELL TURNER SAID
"I think we did what we were supposed to do tonight, we raised our level defensively. We were not very sharp in our first six minutes and I felt like it was very comparable to how we played at Pepperdine in some ways just in terms of our overall engagement. Credit to our guys who came off the bench and really picked the intensity up. There were a lot of guys who performed well tonight and that it is my message to the team- there are going to be nights where we are going to need to rely on everybody."
 
FIRST HALF
>Bent Leuchten would use his size and score six consecutive points for the Anteaters, two on rebound put-backs to give UCI a 17-14 lead at 14:13
>UCI would score 14 unanswered on driving layups by Justin Hohn (13:30) and Andre Henry (12:33), a jumper by JC Butler (11:50) another layup by Hohn (11:19) and one by Dean Keeler (10:40), a three-pointer by Henry (10:04) and a free throw by Chazz Hutchison (9:25), 31-16
>Life Pacific would chip away and close within 10 points, 40-30, at 2:59
>The Anteaters responded with nine in a row, which included five points by DJ Davis and capped by a Hutchison alley-oop at 1:13
>Following a Warrior three-pointer, UCI ended the half with a Hayden Welling free throw and a Henry dunk at the buzzer to take a 52-33 lead 
 
SECOND HALF
>Pierre Crockrell II would have two layups and an assist on a Dawson Baker layup to extend the lead to 58-33 at 17:57
>A Tillis hook shot would make it 10 in a row to start the half, 61-32 17:31
>An 23-2 run was started with a Tillis three-pointer and capped by a three-pointer by Emilis Butkus at 8:55, 90-42
>Newcomers Welling, McBirney-Griffin, and Chol put together a slew of Anteater points, 111-54
>Ofure Ujadughele would hit a 40-footer as time expired for the 116-54 final score
