IRVINE, Calif. – Three UC Irvine men's water polo players earned All-Golden Coast Conference honors, the GCC announced Tuesday.
Sophomore transfer Ethan Shipman headlined the group, earning both newcomer of the year and second team honors. Tyler Padua earned his second career postseason award as he was named to the honorable mention team. To round out the awards, Jackson Matos landed a spot on the all-freshman team.
Shipman has earned his first postseason awards this year after transferring from UCLA. The newcomer of the year and second team all-conference recipient played in every game for the Anteaters and led the squad in goals (50), assists (27), points (77), and steals (17). He is second in field blocks with 8 on the season. Ethan is top-10 leader in the Golden Coast Conference in these categories.
   
Padua continued his athletic success from his freshman campaign to earn honorable mention accolades for his second season as an Anteater. Padua led the 'Eaters with 42 exclusions drawn and has 37 goals and 12 steals so far. Padua has played in all 27 games.

Matos earned All-Freshman Team accolades after a breakout first season with the Anteaters. Jackson earned double digits in goals (11) and assists (10) to earn himself 21 points. The utility player also added 13 steals and five field blocks in his games played.
