· The Anteaters return to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight year and fourth time overall joining the 2010, 2011, and 2021 squads. Two years in a row now UCI has topped a higher-seeded Pac-12 school in the First Round topping the nation's No. 3 squad, UCLA, 1-0, ending their 26-match unbeaten streak in one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Tournament history in 2021. Now in 2022, UCI takes down No. 14 USC, 2-0, on Saturday led by
Destinee Manzo's 16th-minute goal and
Glo Hinojosa's career high eight saves and shutout
· UCI is 4-2-1 all-time in the NCAAs and remains unbeaten in the First Round at 3-0-1

· Brown Bears are next up for UC Irvine in their third straight NCAA Tournament and ninth all-time. They pulled off an upset of their own winning 1-0 at No. 24 Rutgers. The Ivy League champs are on a streak like UCI winning five straight and 8-0-1 in their unbeaten streak. The Bear offense runs the show averaging three goals per game, second in the nation, and over eight shots on goal per game led by Ava Seelenfreund's 10 goals and Brittany Raphino's nine. This goes hand-in-hand with stats near the bottom of the NCAA in saves per match (2.06) and cautions (8). Awaiting for one team is a Third Round matchup Sunday vs. Alabama or Portland.
