
DJ Davis Tabbed For Big West Player Of The Week Honors

IRVINE, Calif. โ UC Irvine junior DJ Davis was named Big West Player of the Week after leading the Anteaters to a 2-0 record and most notably a 13-point win over then No. 21/21 Oregon.
This is the first honor of Davis's career.
In a dominating performance at then No. 21/21 Oregon, Davis set career highs in points (24), field goals made (8), field goal attempts (17), three-point field goals made (6), and three-point field goal attempts (14). The guard also added a perfect 2-2 shooting from the stripe, two rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
The last time an Anteater drained more than five from behind the arc was himself back on January 9, 2020 against UC San Diego where he hit five from distance.
In the home opener against Chapman, Davis tallied another double digit performance with 10 points on 3-7 shooting, going 2-4 at three-point range. The junior contributed one steal, two assists, and one rebound in the 96-50 victory.
On the season, he is averaging 17.0 points per game, which ranks seventh among Big West players. DJ is a national leader, ranking 15th in three-pointers per game (4.0) and 35th in three-pointers made (8).
Davis and the Anteaters will face Loyola Marymount on Tuesday (Nov. 15) for a 7 p.m. tip at the Bren Events Center.
