IRVINE, Calif. -- No. 10 UC Irvine couldn't contain No. 6 Long Beach State in a 14-6 loss in the final Golden Coast Conference game at the Anteater Aquatics Center.

Long Beach State (20-8, 4-1) out-scored UCI 6-1 in the second period to break open the game.

The Anteaters (14-12, 2-3) were led by Dylan Patist and Zlatan Nikocevic with two goals each.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>LBSU would hold a .467 shot percentage to UCI's .200
>The Anteaters were just 1-6 on the power play and missed two penalty shots
>Jake Liechty and Zachary Baxter would also score for UCI

FIRST PERIOD
>Dylan Patist scored from the left side to give UCI the 1-0 lead at 7:24
>Jake Liechty fired a backhand just before the shot clock expired to put the Anteaters up 2-0
>Long Beach State finally got on the board at 1:57, 2-1

SECOND PERIOD
>Patist scored again to make it 3-1 then The Beach rattled off six in a row to go into the half with a 7-3 advantage

THIRD PERIOD
>Zlatan Nikocevic (6:17) and Zachary Baxter (1:38) would find the back of the net for the Anteaters while The Beach added five more goals to their total, 12-5

FOURTH PERIOD
>The Beach would score before Zlatan Nikocevic added a goal at 6:17,
>The final LBSU goal came with 47 seconds remaining

UCI will be back in action today at 4:00 p.m. against Whittier in a non-conference contest. This is the final home match of the season and UCI will honor its senior before the game.
