UC Irvine will host UC Davis Friday (Oct. 1) at 7:00 p.m. and UC Riverside Saturday (Oct. 2) at 5:00 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.

A school record 964 students attended the last match against California Baptist.
STORYLINES
UCI is 8-4 overall, the best start since 2017.
UC Davis is 5-8 overall and 1-1 in the Big West.
The Anteaters hold an 18-15 series record lead over the Aggies, but UC Davis has won the last three meetings. UCI's last win was a 3-0 victory on Sept. 28, 2018 on the road.
The Aggies started Big West play with a 3-0 win at UC Riverside and a 3-0 loss against Hawaii at home.
The match features the two best attackers by percentage in the conference. UC Davis' Josephine Ough ranks sixth nationally followed by UCI's Onye Ofoegbu who is 11th in the country with a .437 mark.
UC Riverside is 4-8 on the year and 0-2 in the Big West after 3-0 losses against UC Davis and Hawaii.
The Anteaters lead the Highlanders 34-11 all-time with the teams splitting a pair of meetings in 2019.
UCI went 1-1 to start the Big West schedule. The Anteaters beat CSUN 3-1 before falling 3-0 at UC Santa Barbara.
Freshman Marianna Bertolone recorded her first career double-double with a career-high 12 kills and 10 digs versus the Matadors.
The Anteaters had their four-match winning streak snapped against the Gauchos. Joy Umeh led the squad with eight kills. UCI hit .078 (25-17-103) and had five blocks, the second lowest marks of the season. The Anteaters also had a season-low one ace.
Besides being 11th in the country in hitting percentage (.437), Ofoegbu is 19th nationally and tops in the Big West in blocking (1.40). The sophomore middle has hit over .500 four times this season and recorded five or more blocks on six occasions.
Ofoegbu can also be found ranked third in points (4.35) and fifth in kills (3.38) among Big West players.
AMONG THE BIG WEST
UCI leads the Big West in hitting percentage (.253) and is second in kills (13.29) and opponents hitting percentage (.180).
The Anteaters are third in blocks with a 2.33 average.
UCI owns three of the top 10 hitting performances of the season among Big West teams, including the top spot with their .424 effort against George Mason.
UCI's eight aces against Sacred Heart are the most in the league in a three-set match this season.
ULTIMATE UMEH
Outside hitter Joy Umeh ranks fourth in the Big West in kills (3.40) and seventh in points (3.69). The sophomore has led the Anteaters in kills five times this season and has recorded kills in double figures in eight of 12 matches this season.
FAB FRESHMEN
UCI is getting balanced offensive production from three freshmen. Marianna Bertolone is third on the team in kills with a 1.93 average followed by Grace Colburn (1.71) and Ellen Veargason (1.36),
Colburn is also averaging 1.88 digs and a team-best 11 aces, while Veargason is second in blocks (0.86).
ON DEFENSE
Libero Carly Rtchter tops the squad with a 3.24 dig average. She has posted digs in double figures six times, including a career-best 15 versus Lafayette.
Sophomore Sofia Skukan is averaging 2.00 digs over 26 sets. She has a team-best 17 digs against UTEP.
SETTING THEM UP
Sophomore Kelly Negron leads the team with a 5.32 set assist average which is ninth best in the league. She averages 1.93 digs and has seven aces. Freshman Indy DeSmet averages 3.52 assts and 1.44 digs.
