BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 13 UC Irvine dropped its first game of the MPSF Invitational to No. 5 UC Santa Barbara, 15-8, Friday evening at Legends Aquatics Center.

UCI falls to 5-3 on the season while UCSB improves to 12-2 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
> Dylan Patist and Casey Lynton each finished with two goals
> Grant Chiponis, Jake Liechty, Zlatan Nikocevic and Zachary Baxter fired in one goal apiece
> Harrison Land played all four quarters in goal and finished with seven goals

QUARTER ONE
> UCI got on the board first when Chiponis fired in a goal at 6:15

> UCSB scored to take a 5-4 before Patist tied it up with a goal at 5:28
> The Gauchos went on a 4-0 scoring run to take a 9-5 lead at the half

QUARTER THREE
> Lynton and Patist scored for the 'Eaters to make it 10-7 with 4:58 to play
> UCSB added a goal to go up, 11-7, after the third frame

QUARTER FOUR
> The Gauchos used another 4-0 scoring run to seal the win, 15-8
> Baxter added a final goal for the Anteaters with seven seconds left on the clock
