IRVINE, Calif. – No. 13 UC Irvine would be held scoreless in overtime as No. 11 Princeton defeated the Anteaters, 12-10 at the Anteater Aquatics Complex Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers improved to 10-2 overall after out-scoring the Anteaters 2-0 in extra time. UCI goes to 4-2 on the year. Princeton scored two goals in the final two minutes of regulation to send the game in to overtime.

Princeton took advantage of extra man situations, scoring six goals on 10 attempts. The Anteaters were 3-12.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
> Zlatan Nikocevic led UCI with three goals, all scored in the second half
>Casey Lynton added two goals and two assists while having a hand in several defensive stops
>Freshman Tyler Padua recorded two goals on five shots
> Dylan Patist, Grant Chiponis and Stewart Campbell each scored a goal
>Goalkeeper Harrison Land totaled 11 saves, one assist and three steals
>Princeton was led by Keller Maloney with a game-high four goals. Billy Motherway collected 14 saves in the win.

FIRST PERIOD
>UCI's Grant Chiponis struck first from the middle at 7:12 only to watch Princeton score on the next trip down at 6:55
>Casey Lynton would record a powerplay goal at 5:42 to give UCI a 2-1 edge
>Following a Tiger power play goal (4:19), Stewart Campbell hit the back of the net at 3:59 from the right side to put UCI up 3-2
>Princeton would take advantage of another power play opportunity for a goal at 2:35, 3-3

SECOND PERIOD
>Tyler Padua sneaks one under the arms for a goal at 7:04
>Princeton would return the favor at 6:34 then defense would take over with both teams recording steals and both goalies recorded saves
>Princeton would take its first lead of the game on an extra man goal at 2:06
>Harrison Land would make two saves in Princeton's last possession to maintain the Tigers' 5-4 lead at the half

THIRD PERIOD
>Mitchell Cooper scored for Princeton (6:29) to start the quarter, 6-4
>Land would keep UCI close, stopping a penalty shot at 5:41
>Zlatan Nikocevic took the ball on the right side from a long pass from Land and fired a goal to narrow the margin to 5-6
>Keller Maloney recorded a skip shot to put the Tigers up 7-5
>Out of UCI timeout, Lynton scored at 1:52 then Nikocevic would score again with 26 seconds left in the period to knot the game at 7-7

FOURTH PERIOD
>The UCI defense started the period with a steal and Padua turned at center and found the back of the net at 7:21, 8-7
>More UCI defense led to a goal by Dylan Patist at 6:41, 9-7
>Princeton drew a five meter shot which dribbled in the corner of the goal at 6:20, 9-8
>The Anteater offense continue to roll with Nikocevic scoring a powerplay goal at 3:54, 10-8
>Princeton responded with goals at 3:19 and 1:41 to tie the game at 10-10
>The Anteaters had two final shots but could not connect as time expired sending the contest in to overtime

1^ST OVERTIME
>Princeton went ahead on a goal up top at 1:51
>Tiger goalkeeper Billy Motherway blocked the next two Anteater shots to keep UCI scoreless after the first extra period

2^nd OVERTIME
>Princeton would open an 12-10 advantage with a goal at 1:39
>That goal ended up being the lone goal of the period as Princeton would take the 12-10 victory

>Nikocevic increases his team-leading goal total to 34
