Collin Welp Earns All-District Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine junior forward Collin Welp was named to the All-District 9 second team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for the 2020-21 season.

Welp led the Anteaters with a 15.1 scoring average this season, and tied for a team-best 7.6 rebounds per game. He topped the Big West with seven double-doubles this season and led the team in scoring on 16 occasions. Welp also recorded a team-high 33 steals and finished five games scoring 20+ points.

He was named on the All-Big West first team for the second-straight year and was selected to the All-Big West Tournament team for the second-consecutive year.

In just three seasons, Welp ranks 25th in UCI history with 1,144 points and 21st all-time in career rebounds with 551.

He becomes the first Anteater to earn NABC All-District honors since Luke Nelson in 2017.

UCI finished the season 18-8 overall and advanced to the Big West Tournament Championship Game for the fourth-consecutive year.
