ITA All-American Championships - Draws
TULSA, Okla. – UC Irvine's Emmanuel Coste wrapped up action in the qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
Coste went 1-1 on the day, winning his first match before falling in the Round of 32 in the singles qualifying draw. An early 8 a.m. (CT) start didn't bother Coste as he cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Penn's Kevin Zhu in the Round of 64. He then dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to No. 106 Henry Schulenburg of Harvard later in the afternoon.
Despite the loss, Coste, who is 63rd in the ITA Preseason Rankings, will advance to the main draw, earning one of four "lucky loser" spots.
Coste begins action in the main draw tomorrow, taking on Alexandre Reco of Arkansas in the Round of 64 at 9 a.m. (CT)/7 a.m. (PT).
