FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Irvine women's cross country claimed the team title Friday evening at the Titan Invitational.
The Anteaters, who had four individuals place among the top-10, took first with 22 points. They held a comfortable 29-point margin on runner-up and host Cal State Fullerton.
Graduate transfer
Evelin Meza led the way, completing the 5,000-meter course in 17:58.1. She was third overall in a field of 113 athletes.
Sophomores
Claire Livengood (18:17.1) and
Elizabeth Celada Padilla (18:29.8) both established 5K personal records to come in sixth and ninth, respectively. Freshman
Hana Nip also clocked in at 18:31.1 to place 10th.
Freshman
Montgomery Allison had her second top-20 showing in four meets, crossing the finish line in 14th (18:43.9). Freshman
Maggie Sczupak added a season-best 18:57.0.
The rest of the 'Eater lineup, which included

Madison Elliott,
Laura Yontz,
Hermela Abrha,
Isabelle Buncab and
Samantha Moore, all notched season bests.
This was UCI women's cross country's first team victory since 2016.
UC Irvine will be back in action next week, making the trip to Davis, California, for the Big West Championships on Friday, Oct. 29.
