Madison Riggs fired two rounds of 72 to lead UC Irvine at The Gold Rush held at the Old Ranch Country Club.
Riggs knocked in seven birdies on her way to back-to-back rounds of even par Monday. She is in fourth place after two rounds with a score of 144, three shots behind Georgia's Celeste Dao (141).
As a team, the Anteaters are in 10
th place with a two round score of 616 (307-309).
Freshman
Megan Yang is tied for 46
th with a score of 157 (79-78), while sophomore
Sienna Lyford was tied for 51
st at 158 (75-83) and sophomore
Angela Bagasbas was tied for 54
th with a score of 159 (81-78). Freshman
Olivia Canales was inserted in to the starting lineup and shot a 54-hole total of 164 (83-81), finishing the first day tied for 64
th.
The final round begins tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The Anteaters will play with Santa Clara and Wyoming.
