Home Opener vs. Georgetown – Friday, September 6 - 7:00 PM - Anteater Stadium
UC Irvine welcomes a big name to open Anteater Stadium for the 2019 season in Georgetown in what will be the first ever visit from a member of the Big East.

The series picks back up after the last meeting in 2014 that finished as a draw with both squads ranked in the top 10 at the time. Georgetown is coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament trips having made the field now in seven of the last nine seasons reaching the title match in 2012.

This is one of two matchups with Big East opponents on the year which includes a trip to Creighton the week following. UCI is 2-4-1 all-time in regular season tilts with the Big East, and have faced a pair in NCAA Tournament matches.

West Coast Duels Invade Anteater Stadium with San Diego, Gonzaga, Pacific
The rest of the Anteaters' non-conference home schedule is lined with familiar foes from the West Coast Conference, rated a notch above the Big West as the seventh-toughest in 2018.

September 20 and 22 fall on move-in weekend where students will be returning to campus prior to classes the following week, and will feature a pair of men's soccer matchups. Friday night at 7:00 p.m. will be a standoff with the University of San Diego. The squads battled to a scoreless draw a year ago to open the season in San Diego highlighted by an overtime penalty kick save from the 'Eaters

Sunday afternoon will shine on a 2:00 p.m. start between UCI and Gonzaga in Anteater Stadium. The contest will be the second half of a doubleheader on the 22nd started off by UC Irvine women's soccer playing that morning at 11:30 a.m. The sides meet for the first time since 2012 when the Bulldogs upset the 'Eaters and ended their run of six straight victories in the series.

A premier WCC matchup finishes out the month of September, Sunday the 29th, with a primetime battle at 7:00 p.m. with the 'Eaters and the Pacific Tigers. Pacific, after restarting its program in 2014 and playing the 'Eaters in their very first match, have now become a perennial contender reaching the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three seasons. The 'Eaters will look to responded to a 4-2 shellacking the Tigers put on them in Stockton a season ago. The Tigers are also under new leadership in the form of Adam Reeves, for assistant coach under UC Irvine head coach Yossi Raz while at Cal Poly Pomona.

In all, the 'Eaters will square off with five West Coast Conference opponents with trips to NCAA Tournament national seed from 2018, Saint Mary's, to open its season, and a visit up the road to Loyola Marymount to end non-conference play.

Challenging Non-Conference Trips to the Pac-12, Midwest
The Anteaters have some of their toughest tests away from home in 2019 including a postseason rematch and rekindling of titanic matchups

The 'Eaters' begin the season on the road in Northern California right out of the game with Saint Mary's, August 30. UCI fell to Saint Mary's in 2018, 1-0, much like the rest of the nation as SMC went unbeaten at 18-0-2 with an RPI of 8 reaching the NCAA Third Round. UCI finishes the trip at Cal playing them for the first time since 2004. The Golden Bears are returning to form after reaching in the NCAA Tournament in 2017.

UCI returns to the spot where its 2018 season ended the following week with a Monday night battle at Stanford, September 9. Live on Pac-12 Network, fans will get to watch the showdown that starts at 7:00 p.m.

The 'Eaters jet out to the Midwest in mid-September traveling to Creighton and Utah Valley. The Bluejays were the 2018 Big East Champions reaching the NCAA Tournament a year after the only time its failed to make it in the last 26 seasons. Utah Valley upset UCI in Anteater Stadium a year ago. The 'Eaters make their first trip to Utah Valley's home after the programs met on a neutral site in 2014, the year the Wolverine program was formed.

The non-conference slate winds down with a heavyweight bout in the Southland with UCI and UCLA hashing it out in UCI's first trip to the Bruins' new soccer facility, Wallis Annenberg Stadium. The teams have not met since UCLA's epic overtime comeback in 2015, and the 'Eaters enter looking for its fourth all-time defeat of the SoCal rival on Thursday, September 26, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup that will be featured on Pac-12 Network. The 'Eaters stay in Los Angeles for its final non-conference bout to take on the high-octane LMU Lions

UC Irvine's non-conference scheduling has continued to challenge them building the 22nd-toughest schedule in the nation last season and the 17th-toughest non-conference slate. Its 2019 slate of 11 non-conference matchups puts their opponents at an average RPI of 67 from a season ago with its road opponents averaging out to an RPI of 59.

Four Big West Battles Coming to Anteater Stadium with UC Riverside, UC Davis, Cal Poly, CSUN
The Anteaters begin the pivotal final month of conference action at home where four of the seven matches will take place.

October 9 will pit a meeting of Big West champions as the Anteaters host UC Riverside following their improbable run to a Big West Tournament title a year ago squaring the two programs off Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

UCI follows that up the next week, Wednesday, October 16, with a 7:00 p.m. rematch with UC Davis as the 'Eaters look to avenge their exit from the 2018 Big West Tournament to the Aggies via penalty kicks.

The conference slate finishes with two straight Saturday night matchups in Anteater Stadium. UC Irvine hosts Cal Poly October 26 proceeded by the regular season finale November 2 against CSUN in a pair of matches that will have meaningful implications as the postseason approaches.
