IRVINE, Calif. -- UC Irvine Athletics would like to congratulate the Class of 2019! There will be 78 student-athletes walking the stage over the next four days as they take their first step towards becoming professionals in the workforce and leaders in our communities. Among the group of graduates there are All-Americans, a Big West Player of the Year, all-conference honorees, Big West champions, NCAA participants as well as scholar-athletes. Â
Â
The group will be representing eight different schools which include: Biological Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Social Ecology, Physical Sciences, Information and Computer Science, Public Health and Nursing.
Â
Overall, UCI will grant 10,323 degrees to 9,403 undergraduates this academic year. And in a testament to the school's dedication to access and affordability, more than half of those bachelor's degrees will be awarded to first-generation college students. This large percentage of traditionally underserved students is one reason why UCI has twice earned the No. 1 spot in a
New York Times ranking of universities "doing the most for the American dream."
Â
We wish all of the graduates the best of luck in their future aspirations.
