IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine hit a season-low .032 in a 3-0 loss (25-15, 25-14, 26-24) to Long Beach State at the Bren Events Center.

UCI (4-19, 1-10) recorded 26 kills, the third lowest kill total of the season. LBSU would hit .374 and out-dig the Anteaters 40-28.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Abby Marjama led the Anteaters with eight kills
>Loryn Carter, Cassie Stewart and Onye Ofoegbu each added four kills
>Libero Chloe Owens had a career-high three aces and eight digs
>Long Beach State's Kashauna Williams had a match-best 17 kills

TURNING POINTS
FIRST SET
>UCI started the match with an ace by Kelly Negron and had an early 3-1 lead
>Long Beach State went on a 7-1 run to open a 14-9 lead
>LBSU would use a 4-1 spurt to close the set and win 25-16
>The Anteaters struggled offensively, hitting just -.174 (6-10-23)

SECOND SET
>Long Beach wasted no time taking control of the second set with a 9-2 lead
>A pair of Beach kills would end the set 25-14
>LBSU hit .581 (20-2-31) in the frame

THIRD SET
>UCI came out strong in the third set with a kill and ace by Abby Marjama and block by Onye Ofoegbu and Loryn Carter, 3-1
>The Beach would rattle off four in a row to take a 6-4 lead
>A pair of Marjama kills ignited a 6-2 run in the middle of the set, 16-13
>LBSU would hold match point 24-20, but the Anteaters wouldn't go away, recording a kill by Cassie Stewart, an ace by Chloe Owens and a block by Wolfe and Carter, 24-23
>Out of a timeout, Owens fired another ace to tie the set at 24-24
>LBSU would end the match on a kill and block, 26-24

>Long Beach picks up three points in the Black & Blue Rivalry series presented by Duke's of Huntington Beach
>With an ace, Kelly Negron is second on the team in aces with 12. Negron also added 22 set assists and eight digs
