UCI returns to the road, traveling to CSUN Friday (Oct. 18) then Long Beach State Saturday (Oct. 19). Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
 
Saturday's match at Long Beach will be broadcast by ESPN3.

STORYLINES
The Anteaters are 2-4 on the road this season.
 
The last time they were away from the Bren, the Anteaters upset No. 11 Hawaii in Honolulu. It was the first ever win against the Rainbow Wahine in program history (1-40).
 
CSUN is 6-11 overall and 1-4 in the Big West.
 
The Matadors are coming off a 3-0 win over UC Riverside and a 3-2 loss against UC Davis.
 
Last year, UCI swept the season series.  The Anteaters won 3-0 in Northridge and 3-1 in Irvine.
 
The Beach is 5-12 on the year and 2-3 in league action. LBSU, who has won two of the last three outings, will entertain Cal State Fullerton before hosting the Anteaters.
 
Last season, UCI won both matches 3-1.
 
UCI has several players with Long Beach connections. Freshmen Onye Ofoegbu and Sofia Skukan were prepped at Long Beach Poly High School. Redshirt freshman Destynie Villamu, who is sidelined with a leg injury hails from Long Beach, while Sierra Davis played for LBSU legend Misty May at Long Beach City College last season. Freshman Joy Umeh is from nearby Lakewood. On the bench, Long Beach assistant coach Sabrina Hernandez was previously a UCI assistant coach under Ashlie Hain.
 
Saturday's match is the first installment of the Black & Blue Rivalry series presented by Duke's of Huntington Beach. UCI beat Long Beach State, 26-23 across 15 programs for the title las year.
 
ABOUT THE ANTEATERS
UCI is 4-13 overall and 1-4 in the Big West.

Last week, UCI dropped a 3-1 loss to Cal State Fullerton at home.

Four Anteater players recorded double figure kills. Onye Ofoegbu led UCI with a career-high 17 kills followed by Makayla Wolfe with a season-high 13 kills and Abby Marjama and Cassie Stewart with 10 kills each.

AT THE NET
UCI has out-blocked the last four opponents.

Ofoegbu leads the squad with a 0.87 blocks followed by Makayla Wolfe with a 0.84 mark.

OFOEGBU DOMINATES
Freshman Onye Ofoegbu has dominated the last two matches. Against Hawaii she recorded a then career-high 13 kills and tied her personal best with six total block assists.

Versus the Titans, she pounded a career-high 17 kills, while hitting .519. She also added four total blocks.

Over the last nine sets, she has averaged 3.33 kills and over the last 12 sets, she is averaging 1.17 blocks.

The middle blocker is third on the team in kills, averaging 2.02 per set overall.

She ranks eighth in the Big West in hitting percentage (.319).

In Big West matches-only, Ofoegbu ranks third in the Big West with a 1.19 block average.

MARJAMA CONTINUES TO LEAD
Sophomore outside hitter Abby Marjama leads the squad in kills (2.73) and aces (0.30). She is second on the squad in digs with a 2.51 mark. She ranks eighth in the league in aces.

Marjama has recorded double-figure kills 11 times this season, including six of the last seven matches.
