Jason Evezard Named Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sophomore utility Jason Evezard was named the Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 27, the conference announced Thursday.
Evezard led UCI with seven goals over two games last week. He helped the Anteaters defeat local-rival Concordia, 14-4, scoring three goals in the win. He followed that with a game-high four goals against second-ranked UCLA, finishing the week with a .636 shooting percentage.
The South African native leads UCI with 34 goals this season and is tied for second in scoring in the GCC. He has scored at least one goal in every game and has led in scoring in 7 out of UCI's 10 contests played. Evezard has eight hat tricks on the season to go along with nine assists and nine steals.
The award for Evezard is his first and the first for the Anteaters this season. UCI received two player of the week nods in 2017.
The 'Eaters continue their non-conference slate on Saturday, Sept. 29 with a game against Cal at 1 p.m at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
