Stage Is Set For 2018-19 Season

| By:
IRVINE, Calif. -- UC Irvine had two individual medalists and finished third at the Big West Championships last season and are looking forward to the 2018-19 schedule producing more exciting results.

"I am excited about our schedule. This year has a great mix of new tournaments and some of our old favorites," head coach Julie Brooks said. "We have a good mix of upperclassman with leadership skills and three incoming freshmen that are hungry to tee it up and start their college careers with this schedule."

Schedule at a glance:
UCI will compete in 11 tournaments in 2018-19.

The schedule is highlighted by the UC Irvine Invitational Oct. 29-30 at the Santa Ana Country Club. The Anteaters have hosted a tournament 13 times in program history, including five times at Santa Ana CC. UCI has won its own tournament three times (2007, 2005, 2003).

The Anteaters will play in 5 different states this season:
California: UCI Invitational, Mission Hills Invitational, Bruin/Wave Invitational, San Diego State March Mayhem, Fresno State Classic, Big West Championships
Colorado: Ptarmigan Ram Classic
Idaho: Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational
Nevada: Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Rebel Beach
Hawaii: Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

The schedule features two new tournaments as the Anteaters will participate in the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational and the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational for the first time.

UCI will return to the Bruin Wave after a two-year hiatus. The field features six Pac-12 teams plus NCAA participants Ole Miss and Northwestern.

Two untraditional formats will be played this season. The Mission Hills tournament is only four teams and the SDSU March Mayhem is an 18-hole stroke play qualifier then match play.

The Anteaters love playing in the Fresno State Classic. Over the years, UCI has won the tournament twice (2008, 2006) and had two individual winners (2006, 2018).

The Big West Tournament will be held at the Moorpark Country Club.
