UCI ended the season with a 21-10 overall record, winning 12 matches against teams ranked in the AVCA top 15.
The Anteaters have recorded 20 or more wins for the third time in the last four years and five of the last seven seasons.
Head coach
David Kniffin's team advanced to the NCAA post-season for the seventh time in program history and third time in the last six years.
UCI fell to Ohio State, 3-2 in an NCAA opening round match.
Karl Apfelbach led the Anteaters with 15 kills followed by
Scott Stadick with 12 kills and seven total blocks.
Matthew Younggren had a career-high 11 kills on a .688 (11-0-16) hitting percentage.
UCI ended the year ranked No. 6 nationally.

All seven starters were honored by the Big West as all-conference. Stadick, Apfelbach, and Koubi were named to the first team, while
Dante Chakravorti and
David Parker were honorable mention choices.
Schneidmiller and
Austin Wilmot were named to the All-Freshman team with Schneidmiller bringing home Freshman of the Year honors.

Seven all-conference selections were the most by any Big West school this year and are the most for UCI in a season.
UCI led the Big West and ranked six nationally in blocks with a 2.57 average. The Anteaters out-blocked their opponent in 26 of 31 matches this season.

UCI had the nation's best blocking night, rejecting 22.5 versus Fort Wayne. The Anteaters also hold the No. 2 spot with 21.5 against UC San Diego on Mar. 16.

Sophomore
Scott Stadick broke his own school record for UCI single season solo blocks with 30 and moved in to fifth in UCI career solo blocks with 55. He ended the year fifth in UCI season block assists with 130.
Stadick led the Big West and was second nationally in blocking with a 1.32 average. He was named Off The Block/Springbak Blocker of the Year. He also led the conference in hitting percentage and was third in the country at .422.

The Anteaters ranked fifth nationally with a .333 hitting percentage, recording a .400 or better night nine times this year, including a season-best .551 (54-5-89) against UC San Diego at the Big West Championship.

UCI also ranked fifth nationally in assists (11.96) and sixth in kills (12.60).
Apfelbach led the team and ranked fourth in the Big West in kills (3.76) and fourth in points (4.51). The opposite led the team with 39 aces.

Koubi was second on the squad in kill average (2.70) and ranked seventh among Big West players in hitting percentage (.322).

Schneidmiller capped his impressive Anteater debut, ranking fifth in the conference in hitting percentage at .338 and was third on the team in kills with a 2.52 mark.

Chakravorti was second in the Big West and fifth in the country in set assists with a 10.54 average. The junior also averaged 1.51 digs.

Parker led the conference in digs with a 2.40 average. He recorded digs in double figures 15 times, including eight of the last 10 matches, posting a season-high 14 twice this season.
The Anteaters return all but four letterwinners in 2019.
