Box Score IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine completed the season sweep over UC Santa Barbara with a 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-17, 25-14) win at the Bren Events Center Thursday.

The Anteaters held the Gauchos to a .129 hitting percentage (47-27-155), while racking up 70 digs, seven blocks and seven aces.

UCI improves to 16-10 on the year and 10-4 in the Big West. UCSB goes to 14-11 overall and 6-7 in league play.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>A trio of Anteaters led the UCI offense with Idara Akpakpa recording 13 kills, hitting .500 (13-2-22)

>UCI started the match with kills by Ali Koumelis and Idara Akpakpa and continued to lead 10-6 on back-to-back kills by Abby Marjama
>A 3-0 run fueled by an Akpakpa kill, a block by Makayla Wolfe and Loryn Carter and an ace by Erin Alonso gave the Anteaters a 13-9 advantage
>Marjama took over with three consecutive kills before a Sophie Wood kill extended the lead to 19-13
