
Casey Lynton Earns Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week Recognition

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sophomore attacker Casey Lynton was named the Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 1 , the league announced Thursday.
Lynton led UCI with three goals and three assists last week. He helped the Anteaters win their first GCC game of the season after defeating San Jose State, 11-10. Lynton had a team-best three goals in the win, notching his third career hat trick. He had two goals in the final frame, including the game-winner that helped UCI earn the come-from-behind victory. Lynton also tallied three assists and two steals against the Spartans.
The Murrieta native leads UCI with 20 steals on the season, good for third in the Big West. He is third on the roster with 22 goals this season and second in assists (14).
The award for Lynton is his first and the second for the Anteaters this season. Jason Evezard received the nod for the week of Sept. 27.
The Anteaters are 8-11 on the season and fourth in the GCC standings with a 1-2 record.
No. 11 UCI hosts two games this weekend including a conference matchup with No. 6 UC Santa Barbara Friday, Nov. 2 (7 p.m.) and a meeting with No. 1 USC Sunday, Nov. 4 (1 p.m.).
